hello, all. spring has sprung in Oregon!
we hope to find some isolated beaches on our Tobago trip, which means we'll have to be dropped off the main road(s) with hiking directions in hand. when we return to the road, is it best to flag down a route taxi, a public transportation bus or make arrangements for a private car to meet us at a designated time?

can't wait to find out 8)

If you're planning trips to the northern part of the Island depending on buses and route taxis may mean a very, very long hot wait by the side of the road. I think buses only stop at bus stops and you have to buy a ticket at a shop before boarding. On some routes the buses get full too, so won't stop to pick up anymore passengers. Still you may get lucky!
Tobagonians often get around by flagging down any passing car and ask for a lift, I suppose you could try that, but .... it obviously carries some risks.
I'd certainly recommend organising a taxi (negotiate the price first) or hiring a car for a day or two.
