Skype access in Tobago

Does anyone know if any of the 'public' use computers have Skype. My husband has just brought home two I P phones, so that we can contact the kids while we are in Tobago at the end of April - they are being left 'home alone' (they are old enough).

For those of you that don't know what Skype is - it is a way of using the internet for a free telephone service. Our mobile telephone bill was over £70 for the week last year after checking on the kids daily.

I use it and it is ok, but when the internet is slow out here people can only here bits of what you are saying if you talk through the computer. The best time to use it is early morning and very late evening, although dont call mobiles on it as your calls are free but theres are still at the same rate.

Hi Jill
I found that the best computer service was in the photographers shop in the arcade in Scarborough, opposite the port. I have Skype here in the UK but I think the broadband service out there is so slow, I'm doubtful if at all in the internet cafes, that I would not hold out much hope. I phone regularly to Tobago using the 1899.com service which is really cheap UK to Tobago. A suggestion--- get the kids to phone you using 1899. Good luck and have a great holiday.
