For anyone thinking of getting married in Tobago just do it! We had arranged the wedding and trip through Virgin and found them to have made all the necessary arrangements on our arrival in the resort.

We had two guests flying in from the States so just a small party of four. Once there Keva, the Social Manager, took over and just just the best job. We were shown a number of locations during the first week and chose the garden overlooking the private beach. We had to go the the Government office in Scarborough to get the licence but even the taxi was arranged for us.

Three days before the wedding our guests decided to get some official photographs of the day done for us and, again, this was no problem.

On the day everything was taken care of. My fiancee had her hair done at the hotel at an amazing rate, it took two hours and I think she thought she'd miss the wedding! Meanwhile, less than an hour from the wedding I was still in the sea and having a beer. It couldn't be more laid back!

The service was very special and the minister very scary! Actually he was wonderful. After the service we had our chocolate wedding cake hidden underneath more conventional icing. We were still eating it in the evening. A wedding meal was laid on in the restaurant.

Honestly the day could not have been better organised. Good weather and stress-free. The photos were back the following day.

Keva and her staff did a truly great job and we will always be grateful for their help. It was the best start to married life.

Hi Dave,

Firstly Congratulations on your marriage!! We are visiting Tobago in November and getting married at the Coco Reef so your positive review was most welcome, we cant wait to go.Do you have the name of the photographer you used as we are planning on booking one? Any additional advice you can think of would be appreciated.

Brendan,

I'm sure you'll not be disappointed at Coco Reef. I don't know the name of the photographer as he was hired through the hotel. However, he was there every time there was a wedding so he is obviously the photographer Coco Reef uses. He was very good. We had the wedding on Monday, the choice of 24 from 36 pictures Tuesday and the chosen photos back in an album with the negatives on the Wednesday. As with everything else at Coco Reef, nothing seemed to be a problem.

Can't think of many hints and advice regarding the day. You need to go to the grand-sounding town hall type place to get your licence (more of a portakabin!) but that is arranged through the hotel. The hairdresser at Coco Cuts did a wonderful job with my wife's hair and not too expensive.

We had a male minister who was quite scary as, apparently, I'm now responsible for everything in the marriage especially if there is trouble!

My main advice would be to let Coco Reef do the arranging and for you and your fiancee to just chill out and enjoy the day.

I got married at The Coco Reef on 10th November last year. Kevah (the wedding planner at Coco Reef) was amazing and the day ran very smoothly. We had 30 friends and family with us but the staff were amazing and the day was perfect and stress free. In answer to your question, I do not know the photographers first name but his surname is Scott, he was brilliant and Kevah arranged this for us.
If anyone has any questions on the wedding or Tobago, I will be happy to help.
Kind Regards
Nicola
