Hi Folks, I have now spent about 8 hours on line checking out all the great sites on Tobago and I'm now more confussed then when I sat down at the computer. I could really use a few tips from the rest of you that have been to this beautiful place before. I will be headed down there the last few days of April and will be there a week.Is it necessary to make reservations or will I be able find a place when I get there? The prices I see on the net all look pertty reasonable so that shouldn't be a major concern. Any and all tips for the single male traveler would be very helpful, ie. do you need a car, checks vs cash/credit card, is beer expensive!! you get the picture!! Thanx KB

Hi there. For a single male, unless you happen to be an eco-tourist or someone who wants absolute peace and quiet, I would recommend staying down near the Crown Point area - there are several bars where you will meet locals and tourists to chew the cud. Also, there are numerous good hotels and guest houses within 2-10 minutes walk of the (quiet as not many planes) airport, so you could just turn up and walk around between them haggling. Credit cards or cheques are fine, as is any colour of money. Mind you, you obviously have access to the internet so why not haggle by email to ensure you are catered for? If you are coming from Europe you will arrive in the evening and be tired, plus any delay might leave you waking up hoteliers. There is a tourist office opposite arrivals who will also help you book. Watch out that you don't clash with Easter holidays with no booking (UK and Trini holidays) as this is one of Tobago's busy periods. Have fun,
