Food Allergies - Ingredients Questions

We are arriving in Tobago this coming Saturday and my two children are allergic to milk and eggs ie they cannot eat anything that contains any dairy or egg ingredients. I wondered if there were any specific foods we should watch out for as being unsafe for my sons? And what exactly is in the famous roti? We will be mostly self catering but at least some of us are looking forward to trying out local delicacies.

We would be grateful for any guidance!

Thanks,
Holly

roti has no dairy products, its white flour, water, yeast, dhal. It is filled with the meat/seafood of your choice or the vege option is potato and channa(chick peas)

Thanks. That's just what I wanted to know. I know my two boys will be very keen to try roti.

Looking at the ingredients I notice that you've not mentioned any fat. Are they a healthy option :D ?

well i find white flour on the whole to be fattening, its made with a little oil so the roti doesnt stick, also the meats etc are cooked in oil as well
its very filling though and it can be spicy if you are not accustomed to the curry and spices they use
its a quick, cheap lunch option available on store bay
