Hi
My friend and I are visiting Tobago for the first time in the first two weeks of August. We're staying at the Grafton Beach Resort in Black Rock. Would welcome any advice regarding island tours, rainforest tours, waterfall visits, boat trips etc that are accessible from this resort. We don't intend to hire a car so it would need to be with operators that can either pick us up or that can be easily got to by bus or taxi.
Many thanks in advance!

Hi Shannie
Please look in the Out and About drop-down section at the top of the page, where you'll find details of all the tour operators for the kind of trips that you have in mind. These will also include deailed reviews for some - to give you a real flavour of what's on offer. Most will arange a pick-up from the major hotels
Close to you at the Grafton, you'll find Frankie's Tours, just down the road at Mt Irvin beach, Alibaba will you pick up and so will YES Tourism. Boat trips include CocoMotion, Island Girl and Kalina Cats - all close by.
You can also cross-reference these with posts on the forum, to get reader's feedback - both positive and negetive (if any).
Best of luck
Steve

We've just got back from a week on Tobago. We did a rainforest birdwatch with Harris Mc Donald, a trip on the Island Girl catamaran (including swimming with sting rays), and an "off road" island tour with Alibaba Tours.
All 3 were very different, however all three were fantastic experiences and great value for money.
The Island Girl trip is very relaxing, the crew were great and everyone had a fantastic day. The boat sails up the coast for a couple of hours then moors up in Cotton Bay (only accessible from the sea) and you are then free to swim and snorkel around the edge of the bay watching the fish on the coral. After lunch, the crew feed the fish and 2 sting rays appear which I guess know all about this free feeding session. You can get in the water with the rays and fish and they gently swim around the people brushing you with their wings as they pass. You can of course watch them underwater using a mask and snorkel. There is no danger from their stings. Island Girl will hold up to around 40 passengers, though they try to keep it to around half that number as it is more comfortable for everyone.
If you do this trip, be careful of sunburn as you may be in the water a while.

Shannie, don't be tempted to book a tour, car etc through the resort you will pay extra for it!Go direct to the operators or via Yestourism who get their commission from the operator not you.
