I am new to posting on this sight, but have been reading forum entries for a few weks now, as I am due to go to Charlottevile in June. We are booked into a villa in the town called charlottevilla, has anyone stayed in this place? I believe it is only recently built. Can anyone give us an idea what food is available in this town, for eating out. Are there any local shops where you can buy bottled water and snacks for lunch etc? All information would be very helpful. Thank you.

Hi Nick, We stayed in Charlotteville in Decmeber and are going again on Thursady. There are a few shops in the town that will supply all your basic needs (water, bread, pasta etc) The one opposite the pier had everything we evrer wanted. there are also a number of stalls along the side of the road that supply fruit and vegtables which are very good. And of course you can get really fresh fish from the fishing co-operative from about 11am. Beer etc can be bought from the bars to take way ( we recommend Lyda's as the friendliest!) Food - there are a few restaurants in town all of them very good. One of the local ladies (Michelle) also cooks in her house on Wednesdays and Saturdays. We stayed there for 2 weeks and never felt the need to eat outside of the village! Meals are not expensive either - our most expensive was £20! Saw the Charlottevilla but never met anyone who was staying there so cannot really comment on it. Sure you will have a fabulous time though.

Thanks Louise for the very useful info, I am sure that we will be posting new queries in the near future, as my girlfriend has never travelled outside Europe, and this trip is a big adventure for her.
