The snow is many feet deep here in the hills near Algonquin, and a change from this to the tropics will be very welcome. Does anyone know if it will be difficult to travel and find accomodations without pre-arranged bookings?? We're off to Tobago on March 27 through April, for a "eco-honeymoon". First time travellers, and we've booked just three nights at the Naturalist, and plan to just travel on intuition from there, to view the leeward coast and walk the rainforests. We'd prefer to be plan-less, and since we don't know the area, we're not sure, in advance, where we'd want to spend most of our time. Would we be better off booking now, before arriving? Much Thanks to the organizer of this wonderful visitor's discussion site!!!

No problem at all-rent a car and GO! That is if you're used to driving on 'the other side of the road'. Tobago is a tiny place especially to we Canadians accustomed as we are to driving for hours-I mean it's an hour and a half from one end to the other-TOPS. No real need to book a lot in advance-Tourism is down-you'll have people approach you as soon as you land-the 'Tobago Hustle'. See my answer below as to options re:outdoor activities. I especially 'Junior' of Bloody Bay as a Rainforest Guide.
