Sugar Mill Suites - Feedback?

My FI and I are considering staying at the Sugar Mill Suites on the Tobago Plantations for our honeymoon. The bungalows with private jacuzzi and plunge pool seem pretty enticing. Has anyone stayed there or perhaps visited the property? Any input would be helpful.

TIA!

Hi Aa;
I've stayed there this past October in one of the condo's. I've seen the villa clusters and they looked quite nice, they're right on the water, the breezes coming off the Atlantic are quite refreshing as well as the sound of the crashing surf to put you to bed at night. You'll have access to all the facilities at the Hilton - the breakfast buffet is a must.

Also consider getting a car as the property is quite large and a bit of a drive from the main road, the Claude Noel Highway. The sea bathing there is not that great and can be a bit rough at times, but very scenic.
The grounds are nice but still in the process of maturing.
For details on this property, check the Review of Ocean Air Villa in the reviews section of this site by Steve Wooler, it's quite detailed and should answer any futher questions that you may have.

Thanks for the information Roger - this proves to be very useful!

So far these bungalows have everything that we're looking for ie privacy, private pool, jacuzzi w/hotel-like service. The proximity of the Hilton w/meals at the hotel's restaurants are also a plus (who wants to cook on their honeymoon). We plan on renting a car regardless of where we stay as we'll have lots of family & friends in town & want maximum flexibility.

Thus far I'm really pleased with their customer service. I sent an email requesting rates & avail. and additional pics of the accomodations, and not only did they respond within 24 hrs but they actually sent the pics! This (email) efficiency has not been my experience inquiring at most other facilities - I must say it's definitely a turn on.

Once again thanks for the input!

Hi Aa;
Yes, Allison and her assistant, Winston are quite efficient and are always available to assist in any way they can. You'll also find the staff at Sugar Mills very friendly.
Do try to get out and sample the food at other restaurants, The Kariwak is very good, try to get up to Speyside and try Jemmas Tree House also
Roger.
