My partner has decided she'd like to come to Tobago this year, and now having read a wealth of onfo both in travel books and the web we really don't know where to turn. all of the UK's main travel operators are offering deals for the Rex Turtle Beach if we book before the end of March, but we'd prefer to go independant and would like a clean room or apartment that has a fridge and coffee making facilities with access to a pool, ideally near to Turtle Beach or the lowlands area. Can you recommend anywhere, we have a budget of about of around £500 for 14 nights. we would like to arrive sometime between 18-25 July 2003. thanks in anticipation (e-mail at [email protected])

Andy, My girlfreind & I are travelling to T&T in May and prefer to go off the beaten track, so with this in mind we booked through a company in the UK called Geodyssey http://www.geodyssey.co.uk/ . They run group & tailored independent trips, you tell them what interest you and they will sort out the accomodation and local transport. I found them to very informative and helpful. Graham

Hi Andy.

One place springs right to mind and would be well worth a look - the Sherwood Park Apartments at Carnbee (http://www.sherwood-park.com ). They're based inland, so you'll ideally need to budget for a self-drive car, but that applies wherever you stay in Tobago, to be honest. I haven't stayed at the Sherwood Park, but I did spend an hour or so there looking around and have been highly impressed by both my own impressions and the comments I see and hear through myTobago.info. Hope this helps.
