Three days on Trinidad (is this the right place?)

Back to Tobago in April for 10 days in Charlottesville but we're talking about spending a few days in Trinidad on the way back. We've an early flight (830am so we'd at least need to be relatively close to Piarco the last night) out of POS the last day but were looking to see a bit of Trini and let dive gear dry before we come back to US. Not averse to driving and we don't need the fanciest of fancy as long as it's clean and interesting. Wife is a birder, so that might drive our interest but nature is good for both of us. Also don't mind staying in more than one place if there's need to. Appreciate any thoughts from you folks. I got a lot of grand info before our last trip in September

thanks

Hi Joe,

You might look at staying at the Asa Wright Nature Centre Lodge - it is a world-famous bird reserve in the middle of the northern range of Trinidad... from there you are also close to the north coast and some of the most scenic coastline of Trinidad with bays such as Blanchisseuse and Maracas. Their website is http://www.asawright.org

If you are going across to Blanchisseu and want to stay over the night, check http://www.lagunamar.com
