We stayed in Alibaba's Sea Breeze for 5 mights in early Feb 2006. We have visited Castara before, but wanted something closer to the beach- and boy, did we get it (overhanging Heavenly Bay, we were about 15m from the sea!) - and so much more.

I loved Stingray. The cleanliness and quality of the apartment was the best I have stayed in in Tobago. We travel around staying in small guesthouses, not the big hotels, and this is a real gem of it's kind. The kingsized bed is fabulous (complete with mossie net), and the apartment is really well equipped, with thoughtful extras like candles, matches etc. The decor is great, with pictures etc on the walls, and the bathroom mirror is sculpted with seashells. This artistic quality extends to the corridor where pipes are magically transformed into palm trees, and Steph has handmade the wooden door plaques. There are books and games available, and Steph and Brian were so incredibly helpful and thorough (laundry done for 30TT- fantastic!). There are also designated parking spaces available just down from the apartments, behind the BoatHouse Restaurant.

Best of all though, is the ornate wooden balcony, and fabulous hammock/swing chair, from which you can dangle and soak in the incredible view of Castara Bay (invariably with a Carib or a Rum Punch, depending on the time of day). I really don't think there can be anywhere better than this!

Mot mots and all number of colourful bird and lizard life visit the trees in front of the balcony, and a pinch of brown sugar in the bird feeder bring the bananaquits within reach!

Our next accommodation fell through whilst we were in Castara, but we were fortunate that we could extend or stay by two days- I don't think there is anywhere in Tobago I would rather have been. My only regret is that the unseasonably rough seas meant we couldn't do a boat tour with Brian. Maybe next time!!

Highly recommended. Thanks very much to the Alibabas!
