myTobago – your questions, review and comment about Tobago

Hi there everyone,
A newbie to the site, I have been checking the site out for the last couple of weeks and was impressed by the knowledge and lack of bitching you see on other forums.
Down to my questions at last! I am visiting Tobago in November for my 30th wedding and have booked club class out to Tobago as a treat. I have booked our seats in the old first class section,does anyone have experience of club and say which seats are best? I have checked seat expert but would value the views of some one who has flown there.
We are staying at the Kariwak for 8 nights then flying up to Antigua for another 8 nights.
I have still to book the connection to Antigua. Do I go for Liat ,Carribean Star or Bewee? Can anyone help? I also note that the baggage allowance is very small on the transfer.Will we have to pay excess or as we are using it as a connection will we be allowed extra?

Hello Nick, lucky You if You manage to book the old first class chairs. They are by far syperior to the flatbeds. The arrangement with flatbeds crisscrossing the compartment also creates an unruly aspect, especially since it tends to be rather full, even with children. The flatbed is narrow as well, not at all like an old-type business chair, but, OK, flat. The 1st class chair may be tilted just as much and is wider and better in every way. How did You manage to book that compartment. On the web or by phone?On a reward ticket or w money? Blue, silver or gold? I couldn´t...

I booked the holiday through BA holidays on the phone as it is a two centre holiday and while chatting with the rep I asked if I could book in the front section of club, mentioning what you have said as I had read the same on other forums and she said it was no problem. Fingers crossed for the next 8 months!

To see the island and the reef as you fly in you need to be sat on the left hand side.

I suspect that not many visitors have made the transfer between Antigua and Tobago. The inter-island flight itineraries vary too much and are far too complex to include on this site, particularly as non of the airlines ever reply to my enquiries. I strongly suspect that the only/best way to do it will be to fly Antigua-Trinidad-Tobago, although Antigua-Barbados-Tobago is a remote possibility.

Why change airlines? British Airways flies between Tobago and Antigua and you can actually purchase this leg as a separate flight. We bought a return ticket for a local friend last year and I think it cost around GBP170 return - you will only need one way so contact BA holidays, quote your reference number and ask for an add-on single leg. It is possible that they may have to adjust ther number of nights in each island to suit the departure dates.

My problem is we are staying 8 nights and the BA flight doesnt fly that day up to Antigua.
Carribean Star seems to be the one for me at the moment as is it is via Barbados, so should have some good views of other islands
