If England has a time change this spring it will be 5 hours. For example here in Canada our time will go forward this coming Saturday by one hour.

Hi Carrie
Angus is correct. Tobago is 4 hours behind Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). However, we our clocks moved forward an hour, last Sunday, into British Summer Time (BST) so we are now 5 hours ahead of Tobago.
Forget about time though. They don't have time on Tobago (at least not as we know it).

oh yes, we have our own time (it is like with the liquid sunshine).
"later"= can be in five minutes or in 8 hours or in a few days,
"soon come"= whatever that means,
"be back"= can be next year, still true,
"jus now"= can be anything,
"de oder day"= can't remeber when that was, last week? last month? who cares!
I think "our time" is the reason, why people can relax so well and fast on the island, you have to go with the flow....

sounds like most airlines get used to our "time-system". condor was late three weeks ago and again last sunday, martinair seems to be late quite often...and so on. just plan more time if you have to change flights on the way back and stay as relaxed as you are here...
best wishes back to you neil... hope you are getting some kind of spring over there

I was just german enough to be on time... when the plane is supposed to leave 14.25 and it is not even there at 4 it might be a bit late... not for tobago measures, but it came from german (puntual & correct) germany...

good that the so called "fast-food" at church's chicken is not really fast, so we knew where to kill some time

Don't forget about the
"
island-time"
what means nobody has to use a watch and you are coming and going
"
in a while"
what is almost the same like "
later" of Brian and Stephs description.
Forget about time and relax, lime and enjoy your stay on Tobago!
Cheers
Gisela (hopefully back in four or five weeks)

Cascreole time is the best.In the Cascreole they set the clock to the hour you want-------the minute hand goes round but the hour hand stays still!!!!!!Start drinking at six o'clock, get legless and finish by 6:15!!!!
Wonderful
