Hi, Just got back from Tobago, and can thoroughly recommend it, their were 6 of us and we only had one day as we were of the ship ARTEMIS.
We had a taxi and the drive Mr Dick showed us the whole island. Hope to come back and stay longer, as it has been cold and wet since we got home.

Hi James
Welcome aboard!
I'm delighted you liked Tobago. I've always thought that visiting by cruise ship must be a quick way to get a poor impression of Tobago, given that the port and Scarborough are so unattractive and that most visitors are piled into buses and shipped around like cattle, so I'm delighted that you had the 'nouse to get a taxi and get out there.

Hi Steve, Yes we did like Tobago and hope to go again for a longer stay, we always try to see as much as we can when we are on a cruise and find the best way is by taxi and not the trips the ship put on and the money goes to them not much to the island. Have you been often to Tobago?
Regards,
James

Don't be naughty, Steve - I thought that job was reserved for me.
Hi James. Yes, once or twice. In fact I've just returned from two months on the island. See the About page (Welcome/About menu) for more background. The 50th anniversary of my first visit to the island is approaching far more rapidly that I would care to admit.

Hi Steve,
From your photograph, I cannot believe that it is now 50 years since your first trip to Tobago......... or was the photo taken a while back?
Best wishes,
Bob.

Hi Bob
Cheeky sod! Without wishing to be disrespectful to my elders and betters, may I suggest that a replacement for the old magnifying glass you use to view your computer screen could be a good investment?
I'll have you know that that photograph was taken at the Mount Hay Retreat on Tobago, just two years ago, and was taken following a report from another reader saying that the existing photo was obviously taken a long time before (which it was, as it happens). When I meet people they always says that I look nothing like the photos on the site. I've never quite known whether that is a complement or an insult. I wonder if its because I look so much more like Brad Pitt than comes across in the photo?

Remember Brad Pitt from the film '
Fight Club'
I'm in one of those moods today, so please excuse my sarcastic wit (or what passes for wit).

Hi Steve(s),
That's why I won't post my photo. My wife says it might cost you a few visitors to the site.
Bob.

Yes, she has a point, Bob. Don’t worry, we don’t mind you lurking anonymously around in the undergrowth.

It gets easier after adolescence, Bob.
Anyway, I better go for my lie-down now. I can't feel the tablets taking effect.

Well, David, its true that a photo can be 'enhanced', but you need something fairly promising to start with. I guess that's why your profile avatar is blank.

Hi James
Having a big yellow strip up your back isn't good enough reason to hide your face from us. Crikey, if my ugly mug hasn't put everyone off, I don't know what you're fretting about.
p.s. Joking aside, its nice to be able to put faces to names, so let me encourage everyone to put a mug shot on their profile. If you don't know how to prepare an avatar, just email a photo of yourself (yes, yourself - not Brad Pitt) to me at
[email protected] and I'll prepare the file and attach it to your profile. Don't forget to mention your user name.

steve
you really are a hardworking saint when it comes to making this site even more interesting-maybe you should add a halo to your mug shot or a huge good service medal
many thanks for all the fun
