I have just returned from a Tobagan vacation and cannot say enough about the place. Every second was a delight, even when it rained...Castara was perfect, the food was always great, the people so friendly and layed back it made it one of the best vacations I have ever had. I will write more specifically later but in the mean time feel free to have a look at my photos...

christine, the pictures were wonderful. thanks for sharing. the more i see of castara, the more i like it. i spent a day visit there last year and do plan to spend some days there hopefully in 2007, soaking up sunshine and relaxing.
i will not be visiting the rain forest however, too many creepy crawlies. i guess i am a city gal at heart. i can tolerate insects when in t&t, but that locust has put me over the edge. i never saw a locust that darn big! but everything grows nice in tobago.

Nice photos! Good to see that Castara is still there.
We had a beautiful holiday there in December 2005 and some
nice memories came back immediately. Yo're right - partying at
the Boathouse is the best!

Ah come on now Rups,
We all know that the Canadian Girls go where the fun is.
It doesn't get much more laid back and fun than Castara Bay.
Seems to me there are alot of British men too
See ya next year in small bay.

Hi Christine,
nice photos! And little Bay is the nicest place to lime with the locals. Nice photo from Overload

He is really famous in between.
I stayed there in May and enjoyed every minute. Blue Mango looks nice. Looks like you really enjoyed yourself!
Maybe see you next time in Castara
Cheers

I'm missing Castara this week...back at work...back to reality!
I'm a little embarassed about my initial fear of the creepy crawlies. Even in such an open cottage we were fine and didn't fret one bit about anything that decided to come inside. We welcomed the geckos as they eat the bugs, and are oh so cute!
As for the rain forest, I was glad I had long pants and socks on because otherwise I may have gotten spooked...but it was amazing, so lush and teaming with sights and sounds...our guide Kelly (Kelly Tours in Castara) was generous with his knowlege and so excited and interested in the local ecosystem that it was infectious...he's a sweet guy and a smart and funny guide. I recommend looking him up if anyone is interested in a rainforest excursion.

Great photos Christine, thanks for sharing them. It's lovely to see Cliff Hanger again, the kitchen's been done up a bit since we were there.
So glad to hear you had a fantastic time.

Hi Christine,
Load here from Castara - I've just had a chance to see the pictures you took on one my trips earlier in the year. They capture the real spirit of Castara and tobago and I'm glad you had a great trip. I'm in Glasgow in the UK right now - visiting Selvin - one on my long life buddies from Castara who's lives here now and has just had twins!!! I'll be looking out for you on your next visit ... Load and Seon says hello

David - Selvin here. Well I'm hoping to be back in Castara for New Year or early Jan to show off my new twins to the family back home! Loady is heading back down next week and yes his boat is finished and doing great. Have a great time when you're back and I'm sure we'll see you at Wallace's bar or by Iper's

Hi David, Load, Selvin and Linda and all the others,
great to hear the Linda and Selvin got twins! Congratulation! I only knew she was pregnant when I met Selvin in May.
And congratulations to Load for his boat. I will have a look when I come back (hopefully in October).
So it looks that Castara is rising what I appreciate but I hope not too quick so it keeps his atmosphere.
I also got my own website in between. Sorry, it is still under construction and will change his view once in a while

but you can watch some photos.

Best wishes and cheers

Hi Selvin, Emma from Edinburgh here! Sorry we lost contact, my phone fell off the back of a rickshaw so I lost your number.
Wow! Twins, boys? Girls? One of each?! Congratulations to you both, lovely news. Hi to Load too.

Hi there Gisela,
yes, we met back in 2004 I think. I was just speaking with him this week, obsessed with fish as ever! Not sure when I'll be back unfortunately but I like to keep up to date with how everyone is.
I hope things with you are good.
Cheers
Emma

1. is there anything you want to say barbara, or you just want to beat arround the bush?
2. you seem unhappy about what place? castara? whole tobago? please specify!
I know a lot of single women who come here to castara, because they know, that the guys here leave them alone if they ask for it and they feel safe here. if you had other experiences i am sorry, but please don't make people worry by just making little unspecified comments. i am a white woman living in castara and I walk streets and beaches alone at all times of day and night and never had an unsafe feeling...
gisela knows for sure what I am talking about
