myTobago – your questions, review and comment about Tobago

I've heard this morning that later this year a non-stop service will be running from Atlanta directly to Tobago on a Saturday with Delta Airlines. I'm not sure how true it is, but it's from a fairly reliable source, so I'm hopeful that it's more fact than fiction!

Hopefully this will prove a popular route and perhaps more of the large cities will start thinking about providing a service rather than running everything through Miami and then Port of Spain!

delta is going to have non-stop from atl to pos, not tobago. but that is good for folks in atlanta who have to fly to miami to board bwia flights to trinidad. the days will be monday, wednesday, saturday and sunday into trinidad. begins in december 2006.

And there was I getting all excited!!

Oh well... at least there was SOME truth to it!!

Actually, Delta IS commencing flights to Tobago come February.

Yes, I must admit, I was surprised when I couldn't find any additional information back in August when I first posted about the flights, as my source of information was fairly reliable!! I haven't checked the link, but I believe the direct flights from Atlanta start mid February. We have lots of visitors from the US, and anything that can make it an easier journey for them, is most definitely a bonus!!

Yes, what little information we have about the Delta flight has been available in our North American air travel article for some time. (menu: Tobago/Getting There/Air Travel/North America).

Thanks to all for the links and info. Just got tickets in the mail from Delta a few weeks ago but man was it tough trying to talk to the Delta representative on the phone and get it done. Since it's so new to Delta, their staff aren't fully aware how to ticket it (or at least the one I got on the phone). I was put on hold twice while she (the rep) called someone to verify and get the flight info. Then she had me going into POS not Tobago. So again I pointed out to her that the Delta website says direct to Tobago from Atlanta. Anyway, success in the end. Into Tobago in June on a Saturday and back out two weeks later on a Sunday. Let's hope the flight schedule holds, but if not we'll figure something out. Can't wait...

the flights better hold cuz i am excited to be going. 7 states apart or so and re-united on the myTobago board already excited to be going as we both post away as time ticks by...cant wait to be sittin on the beach so im crossing my fingers nothing falls through pops.
