I will be staying at the Coco Reef this next week. I'm wondering if there is any good casual shore fishing around that area (Crown Point)? I checked some maps, but didn't see any rivers dumping into the sea in that area. Any response is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Jeremy

Welcome aboard.

I am no fishing expert, so can't really comment. Hopefully one of our fishing gurus can answer before you leave. However, I believe that Sandy Point is a popular shore fishing spot. This is immediately west of the end of the runway at Crown Point airport. You will find it clearly marked on the map available from menu: Tobago/Maps - Region 1

from memory you can't fish from coco reef itself.

there are no water inlets around there however there are alot of fish, and from the "jacks thread"

i'd suggest that there is some good fishing near the airport (very close to coco reef).

kids did (i assume still do) handline for jacks from the rocks forming coc reef's lagoon, fishing away from the hotel side.

A full reading of the above thread will help though giving you a lot of guidance on tackle bait etc, and don't miss out on the fishing pages on the site which are invaluable.
