Where to go in December?

Hello everyone,

I am so glad that I have stumbled across this great site. I will be going to Tobago for the first 2 weeks in December and I am a first timer.

A friend of mine recommended Charlotteville. I went there twice.

Where would you recommend me to go?

I love nature and quietness and am into snorkeling and am thinking about learning to dive and I like the typical cliches of the Caribbean: Beautiful beaches, palm trees, emeral-green sea, nice little fisher villages... I am thinking of renting a car

Where would you recommend me to stay? I am woman going on her own. I am also looking for the cheaper range of accomodation at least for one week. Can anyone recommend a nice little guesthouse or appartment. I do not mind to spend my holiday in several places. Can I just come and look for accomodation when I am there or wouldn't this be recommended?

Thank you so much for advice and tips.

S.

Hello Sabine

Welcome aboard!

The high season is only starting to kick off at the start of December, so you will have no problem finding accommodation. However, as usual, the best places tend to get booked in advance, so it all depends upon how fussy you are about your accommodation.

A car is a great idea. I always maintain that it's by far the best way to get the best out of the island, even if you rent one for only part of your holiday.

From what you are saying, I would suggest that Charlotteville or Castara are the places to concentrate on. Check out our reviews for suggestions of places in both these villages. Every accommodation property in the villages is listed in our main Accommodation section.
