Change in forum?

Hi Steve and everyone else

Question for y'all
Although i'm not a regular poster I always check in to see "What's happening" I used to be able to go to 'Forums' and see what had been 'posted since my last visit' I can't do this anymore, and feel like i'm missing out.
Is this a change in the 'mytobago' website or my computer?
Thanks in advance
Carole

Hi Carole
I know what you mean about looking at posts but not signing in, so I wondered how many posts I had missed. I signed in and went onto" posts since my last visit" and have 345 unread !!! So in answer to your question the forum is the same as ever at my end and I have no idea why you cant access past posts at your end ! sorry
regards Sandra

Hi Carole
Sandra has hit the nail on the head - you have to be logged in for that facility to work. Otherwise, the system doesn't know who you are so can't tell what you have or haven't read.

Mind you - you can be logged in and still not get new posts flagged up. (Or is that just me?)

Hi Jane
It's a bit complicated to explain. The forum highlights all messages posted since the date and time of your last log-in. However, the moment you leave the site (log out or don't access a page for a period of time), it "clears the slate". There has been no change in the system and if you are returning and never finding the new posts highlighted, one possibility is that you have a corrupt cookie. This is a very common problem with browsers - Internet Explorer and Firefox in particular. The only thing to do then is to go into Tools/Options and delete your cookies and other temporary files. Its amazing how often this resolves log-in problems and other display problems.

Thanks Steve - I'll give it a go.
I guess I keep forgetting that you have to do a bit of housekeeping on computers to keep them running sweetly!
