Just to check... flight prices - regardless of carrier - are insanely hiked for school holidays, correct? (I'm talking instead of £980 for 2 adults and 2 kids to £1989-ish).

Mistakenly worked out some great prices for June then was reminded one of our kids is at school and the law frowns on hauling kids out of class before term ends.

Hi Marc

Yes - one of those things that disgust me about airline and train companies, etc. Rip off merchants!

Marc,

Take the kids on a rainforest/birdwatching trip and call it an educational tour  I bet they will learn more by going to Tobago, than at school at that time of year !!

Certainly will - and that's exactly what we did two years back when Tom was 9 - but this year it's SATs and then a new (high) school - added to that the law has changed on taking kids out of school and I think I can be fined.

Madness - because this now gives airlines etc a chance to hike prices merely to rip parents off knowing there is a smaller window to get the nippers abroad.

Hi Marc, good to see you back.
If I were you I would check very carefully.I believe at the school's discretion up two school weeks can be taken as a one off. There will usually be some homework given and the child(ren) may have to carry out an assignment when on holiday.Check with the school secretary.
