A friend and I have just returned from a week at Sea Breeze - what a superb positon right on the beach. The accomodation was exactly as shown on the website, but the photos do not do justice to the superb view from the balcony. Watching the Pelicans diving and the local men fishing in the bay as we ate our breakfast every morning was magical, and the sunsets are to die for!
Steph and Brian are excellent hosts, the apartment was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. The several restaurants in the village serve good food at reasonable prices, with the Boathouse right next door being very convenient! The local people are so friendly, we loved walking round the village and hearing a friendly "good morning" from everyone we met.
It was our first visit to the island, so we hired a car and explored the many other lovely beaches, but always came back to Castara to watch the sun go down. The many hotels on the island are undoubtedly good, but we much prefered being part of a local community, even if only for a short while.
All in all a perfect place for a relaxing escape from the wintry weather at home.
