Castara - getting busier?

Last visited Castara in December 2004 - and we were the only 3 people on the beach!
In recently spotted photos Little Bay looks far busier - is this just a case of high season or is the secret out?
(going in July so it may be seasonally busy/quiet).

december is only the start of the season so not extremely busy anyway...
you still have days with four people on the beach, although the village is booked quite well. you never see the whole crowd in one spot. castara guests love to walk and drive arround the island, hang out on their baconies or in bars and never show all at once on the beach. I love that, so the touristy feel does not come up!
you will still find a mix with locals where ever you go and thats what makes it interesting, getting in touch with the people.
in july you might not see another tourist most of the day... how nice, but uirt also means that the restaurants don't open every day (just no need for it).
whenever you are here, it will always be a pleasurable stay!

the fishermen are still fishing and the ladies at the oven are still baking and ralph tries to have a lettice and some tomatoes at all time, what else can you need
also sherma always makes soups on saturdays and roti and other takeouts during the week (also fresh bread and cake every afternoon). noone must starve in catstara...

I might be testing the adaptability of the place as I don't eat fish! (in fact all of us including the nippers are veggie). It's one reason why the Breeze is so appealing!
I don't care if I have to survive on coconuts and Carib to be honest!

ralph usually has chice of veggies... maybe even more if you tell him to get some more...
for the restaurants: marguarites and the boathouse have no problem cooking vegetarian if they know about it in advance...

I read with interest your comments about the availability of various foods in Castara. Who is Sherma? I'm really interested in her bread & cakes!

Vera's (D'Almond Tree) veggie roti is highly recommended for lunch!

shermas is the shop beside the (never open) post office. it was pink before and is yellow now. she sells drinks (alcohol, too) and home cooked meals like pelau (how to spell that?) and roti... kind of opposite the bus station.
we usually have a soup on saturday when we have no time to cook because of work (or when I am in the absolute non-cook-mood...
)
