Is an umbrella any use?

Apologies in advance for this rather girlie question.....

We're off to Castara on Saturday and so I have been checking the five day weather forecast every day on this website.

I have been a bit disappointed to see that most days have showers forecast.

I understand these to be short and sharp and the heat dries things up quickly afterwards.

So, my perhaps daft, question is - is a brolly any use? I'm thinking particularly for the evenings when walking to a restaurant.

Mary, the only reliable forecast for Tobago is look out of the window! The "foreign" forecasts always say showers 'cos it is rain forest.Next month is one of the driest so you are unlikely to need an umbrella. If it rains you get wet, then you get dry! Also most places have an umbrella provided---not just for the rain but for the sun!
