I have read that Tobago is a great site to see Hammerhead Sharks.
Could someone advise, are these seasonal visiters, if so, who is the best person to take you out and when.

We met a shark on Buccoo Reef, it wasn't a hammerhead but it was still a shark and it was very exciting.
I think it was either a nurse shark or a reef shark.

Hi Tony,

Sisters probably offers the best chance of seeing Hammerheads. I believe they're migratory and the best chance is from Jan to May.... but I know there have been sightings at other times in the year too!

There are several dive centres on the island that will take you to Sisters. Normally the Sisters dives are a two dive trip and incur an extra charge as they're further out than the regular dive sites.

With best regards
Lisa.

Tony,

I would agree with Lisa. I was lucky enough to see hammerheads at Sisters in October 2005. There were 2 and they didn't hang around.

Hi Tony,
as pointed out previously Jan to May at the Sisters is the best bet for seeing hammerheads on a regular basis. If drop an email to Stuart at Caribstu. He has a lot of info on them and will be able to set up a hammerhead dive for you.

I'm heading over to Speyside in 3 weeks and really hoping for Hammerheads at Sisters - any 'real' sharks in fact!

Aaaahhhh, I'll soon be diving, drinking rum punch and eating roti - not all at the same time.
