Hi Folks 8)

Hopefully someone may be able to help me with the answer to this simple question.

Are there any Jewellers in Tobago ? and are they duty free or are they more expensive than here in the UK.

Have had a quick browse around the web and not come up with anything that gives indications of the question of Jewellers in particular I was wondering if I can purchase wedding rings for my wedding in December or if I have to find them at home or even Trini is an option with Flights so reasonable from bago

Any help will be gratefully recieved

thanks in anticipation

Hello, yes there are jewellers there, although it isn't a duty free haven like Barbados (but you ought to be able to claim the VAT back - ask customs at the airport when you arrive about this procedure). There is a jeweller close to Pizza Boys opps the port (air conditioned mini-mall), and I think there is one on the main Scarborough mall. You will be able to get weding rings, but I have no idea of thier price or quality - a trad band of gold ought to be easy to get. Have a happy wedding (we did, last Sept), best wishes, Glyn and Caroline

In Tobago, on Sangster St., there is a little mini-mall (close to where you will get your marriage license). Around the side of this mini mall to the left, there is a little jeweller's shop. Most of his jewellery is in silver, but he works in gold. The plain bands that I saw (by plain, I mean no stone) were nice, and the price is very reasonable. Cheaper than in Canada at any rate. I'm not sure if he uses stones, since I saw none on display. He custom made my marriage bands in 1 day. I was satisfied.
