Passports!

Firstly thanks to Lina for her her comments.I like the idea of picking mangoes off the tree!
This is not to do with Tobago as such, but you might be amused(or bored) by this little rant:
I have just had my application for a passport for my 15 year old daughter rejected for the third time,as the counter signatory is not deemed to be of high enough social standing. I suppose I should have asked one of her teachers but at the time it seemed easier to ask a friend rather than have the palaver of going to the school.
The first person was deemed unsuitable as they do not have professional qualifications, even though they were accepted for my son's passport last year.
The second person had qualifications, but which did not appear on the Passport Office's list.
The third works as a building society cashier, and has known me for years, but as they work at a sub branch and are employed by an Estate Agent rather than the building society, they are not worthy either!
I'll just have to wait for the school to re open after the Easter hols on Monday.
What is so annoying is that each time it takes them two weeks to notify me.This has been going on since February. She is going on a school trip in May, looks like she won't be going at this rate! Aaaargh!
Meanwhile my husband is having trouble getting the photo right on renewing his passport(2 attempts so far)
I know this is a reflection of the troubled times we live in,but this is ridiculous.
Thank you to anyone brave enough to wade through this. I feel better now
Cheers Carol
