An old schoolmate and I just spent 4 glorious days in Tobago. We were visiting for the Tobago jazz festival (which was absolutely brilliant!!) and hoped to have a few lazy days as well. We did our homework and finally settled on Sherwood Apts as "the place". We were not disappointed! Nigel, the manager was friendly and very easy-going. Everything went smoothly from airport pick-up to drop off. Although we didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel as most evenings were taken up with the music festival, we are pleased to report that it was clean, spacious and well equipped. Of course, Sherwood is the place if you truly want to get away from it all as there are no television sets, internet or phones in the rooms but that suited us fine as it was our goal to completely de-stress and forget our busy lives. The gardens and local flowers are beautiful and the pool looked so inviting (although we somehow never went in!) There were a few families who seemed to thoroughly enjoy it.

It's important I think to rent a car if you wish to do sightseeing and eat out frquently as Sherwood is definitely away from the main drag. I had to laugh at the roosters in the neighbourhood as they seemed to have their internal clocks mixed up! We returned home at 2 o'clock one morning to hear the village cock crowing for all he's worth (and he didn't stop!) Thankfully I was so sleepy I dropped off despite this...but I did notice that Tobago roosters start crowing LONG before dawn!:)

So thanks to My Tobago website for pointing us in the right direction and the staff at Sherwood for making our short vacation a very pleasant, enjoyable one where we finally had a chance to catch up and giggle uncontrollably!
