Does anyone have any new information about Delta's flights to Tobago?

I sent an email to Delta customer service regarding trips from the US straight to TAB and got this reply:
Thank you for contacting us through delta.com. We are sorry for the
delay in responding to your message.
Our research indicates that the service from Atlanta to Tobago has been
postponed. The service will start from December 15, 2007.
Please let us know if you have any further concerns.
We appreciate your interest in Delta Air Lines.
So I guess there's our answer on that one. Too bad I'm going in October. I did manage to find a Caribean Airlines direct flight from NYC to POS though for under $500. As long as I get to paradise I'll be smiling wide

Currently Travelspan is flying directly from NYC to POS but not to TAB. Not sure if I should expect anything directly to TAB on any airline coming from the US?

I just returned from a vacation to Tobago May 7, 2007. The easiest way we found if you live in the Southern United States is to take the Delta nonstop Atlanta to Bardados flight, and take the 5:00 PM LIAT Airlines flight to Tobago. It is only 50 minutes. We arrived at Crown Point Airport late, but we had arranged transport previously, so it did not matter. We took the Tobago Express ($25USD) to Port of Spain, Trinidad on Saturday afternoon and stayed at a hotel near Piarco for the return non stop flight to Atlanta on Sunday mornng. None of the flights were full.
The trick is to get to somewhere in the Caribbean around noon, and find a LIAT flight or other local air carrier to Tobago that afternoon. There are a lot of flights. By the way, travel agents don't seem to know this trick. It took me a while to figure it out.
