Myself and my four young children are staying in a Villa for 2 weeks in August. What I was wondering is what the prices are for everyday food & drink products compared to the UK? especially absolute essentials like Beer & Wine, and does anyone have any moneysaving tips.

If Ice cream is four times the UK price I'd better remortgage now

Steve, on the whole prices are generally lower than UK.A bottle of Carib from Pennysavers is about $TT5(at $12/£),a 4litre box of Chile Merlot/Shiraz about $120 (£10).Get all your fresh fish from the fishermen's co-op and fresh fruit and veg fron Scarborough market. You can also get fresh meat at the market but be aware that the "cuts" are not like ours.Buy ice cream in bulk from the manufacturers.
I self cater when I stay on Island and I eat pretty well for £10-£15 a week.

Thanks a lot for that info David. It seems cheaper than I thought so maybe I won't have to sell one of the kids after all

Come on David, isn't that closer to £60-£70 after you add in your carib and rum punch bill
