Finally got around to organasizing my photos of Tobago from Jan/Feb 2007, (although I've only managed to post the ones of Castara so far).

Can't wait to be back!

Great set of photos Tony, its really nice to see so many faces I recognise Colins grandaughter has grown a lot, can't wait to return but sadly it will not be until January 2009..... so will have to keep looking at others photos.

Back to Tobago 19/01/08 after a two year absence. We haven't been to Castara before so info on local amenities would be really useful, shop(s), bars , restaurants, fishing - all 5 of us fish, liming opportunities, meeting other visitors etc and car hire would be great.

Last 4 times we were in Store Bay area, decided this time to chill up the coast at Castara for a week, Lillibets, then back for a week in store bay, not sure where yet etc

Great pictures. It's funny how so many were scenes I shot also, like the entrance to Cas Creole. I guess great minds run on the same path

I especially like the Kite Flyer. How did you achieve the glowing backlit effect? Or was it a lucky accident? If it was you don't have to admit it you can simply throw some photo jargon out about ISO and f-stop

Yeah, great minds think alike, as the saying goes. But I think that it is more down to the fact that Castara is so tiny we are all inevitably going to end up taking similar shots. I'm not a great photographer by any stretch of the imagination, but I just take loads of pics and hope that some of them are worth looking at. Actually my lovely wife, Janette, has a better eye than me and took as many, if not more than I did.

As for the effect on the kite flyer, I don't know anything about ISO and f-stop settings. But there's no mystery - I simply cheated by messing around with the colours in Adobe Photoshop.

Carol, I am much too old and laid-back for a race. Even just reading the word race makes me feel tired and I've only been up an hour. But this is just one of the many reasons I love Tobago... everything seems to run at my speed.

As for being a hacker, I'm not capable of hacking anything! I spent the whole of yesterday afternoon trying to create a photo album, and it has nearly given me a nervous breakdown.
It took ages to select what I want to display, as there are many duplications, interminable sunsets, pelicans on boats and chickens on the beach(LOVED those chickens). And hubby borrowed my camera to go fishing, as it fits in his pocket, so we have endless pictures of dead fish, including the bait, for Pete's sake!
Then I couldn't get the hang of it at first,got them all jumbled up and forgot the captions. I've put some in twice, missed others, forgot what I'd done, and something went wrong twice so I had to start over again.Then I did something wrong when closing down, and thought I'd lost the Internet
I started again this morning, and the wretched thing froze. Luckily son was here to help me, otherwise I'd be running around in a panic.
I won't be doing much today; son is here all day and reckons he needs the computer for something called"work", so I have to wait till he has a break or goes to the loo.
When this album is finally completed, I will retire to a darkened room with a rum punch and possibly even CHOCOLATE.
