Blame It On Tony!

Thanks for your kind words, Tony, but you really shouldn't encourage me you know!
So, I've checked the old diary, and thought I'd tell you about our trip to No- Man's Land, which I have referred to briefly elsewhere.
The weather was glorious, and we went with Duck, Michael,Cheno and Loadi (or Lordi. Must apologise for being unsure of the name) on Soca Adventure Tours.
There was another person whose name I did not hear, "hitching a lift". The others described him as the only Indian in Castara! When we reached his destination he simply leapt off the boat, disappeared under the water for what seemed a VERY long time and reappeared almost on the beach. I suppose most Tobagonians can swim like fish ?

This was the first time any of us had tried snorkelling. Hubby and daughter managed very well. In fact daughter took to it so much that by the end of the first week she could actually TALK whilst snorkelling. She's a 15 year old girl, what did you expect?
Myself and son didn't do quite so well; we kept gagging on the mouthpiece, so in the end we managed with just the mask and held our breath. It's OK but you don't see so much as it's in 10 second bursts! We did get the hang of it by the end of our stay though.
We arrived at No-Mans Land to be greeted by stingrays to a chorus of "wow" or "eeeek!" depending on your point of view. We were of the "wow" sort, even daughter, and we patted them. Girls are strange, you know. Daughter liked the stingrays, and the bats in the house, but I remember her going into the bathroom within minutes of our arrival and squealing loudly at a moth .It was a LARGE moth, however!
We enjoyed the BBQ on the beach, even though it was somewhat crowded. It's clearly a popular spot!
There was a chap selling shirts on the beach. Hubby showed interest, but he didn't have his size. " I can get it" says Del Boy. It was then time to head off for Nylon Pool, so we thought no more about it.
There we were, standing/swimmimg in Nylon Pool, when along comes Del Boy ( NOT his real name in case you were wondering) in a motor boat with a shirt for hubby. This had to be one of the most surreal experiences of our lives. What could hubby do? He could hardly say no, so there he was, standing in the middle of the sea, buying a shirt! His money of course was still aboard our boat, so he had to get back on.
Del Boy set off in his boat a very happy man, then had to come back as he had left the rest of his shirts behind on our boat! You have to hand it to him; what a salesman!
As for Nylon Pool, it was rather crowded with people standing in the water, another different sort of experience! I understand legend has it that you come out looking 5 years younger......Nah!
:(
Well bye for now then .Back at work tomorrow, so no time for all this fun and frivolity

Carol, well done to and yours, you seem to have really got into Tobago proper.
That's what travel is .It'sgetting to know people and their environment, not taking snapshots "Our Hotel Room" marked with an X.
I do hope you will return someday and your children also(perhaps with their's,sometime)
Enjoy reading your diary, let's have a page a week--even the bad stuff!
