Hi Steve

On 12 Sept I made an enquiry via the website about booking accomodation at Sealevel Apartments in Castara. You quickly acknowledged this. But as I hadn't had any reply from Sealevel after three days, I attempted to inform you on [email protected]. Unfortunately my email was returned with a message saying that 'the user is over quota' . What do I do now?

Sorry to hear they didn't bother replying. Sadly, we have no control over how/if/when these places respond and many of the smaller places are sadly lacking in their response to enquiries. The emails go directly to the property - not to me.

As regards your message to me, the clue is in the address you used - website@. The enquiry copy was sent to you by the webserver - not me. The machine is pretty dumb and rude and refuses to get into conversation with people. I've slapped its legs a few times and made it sit on the naughty chair, but I'm afraid despite my best efforts it still refuses to behave.

Seriously, though, it can only assume that your enquiry would have been received by Sealevel. One of the reasons I use this system is so that any non-delivery reports come back to me, not the reader, allowing me to investigate if a property is having email problems or changed their address. Nothing has come back on Sealevel so they should have received your enquiry.

Apart from that, 12 September is only 3 days ago - remarkably quick for Tobago properties. I did a survey, sending out test emails, about a year ago. I haven't got the actual results to hand, but only about 90% replied. Around 40% replied within 24 hours, 30% within 48 hours and the rest anything up to two weeks.

If you don't hear within another day or so, I can only suggest trying them again or telephoning them.

Yes, I was aware that three days wasn't very long in Tobago terms but as there was a possibility that I would be away from my PC for a couple of days I just thought that I would check. Thanks for explaining the system. I'll give them a bit longer and then try phoning.

I do feel that steve has a connection for a lobatop implanted in his belly and is carrieng it around everywhere...I can picture him sleeping upright in his bed, waking up every time a message comes in... I am amazed...
