Departure tax

The future Mrs. and I are planning to spend a week in Tobago in April. For financial and sightseeing reasons, we are planning to fly in and out of Port of Spain and take the inter-island airline.

Just curious, is it necessary to pay the departure tax when flying between the islands? I'd assume not but the guidebooks don't make the point clear.

Thank you.

Hi Tim

The departure tax only applies to international flights. So, you won't pay that when finally leaving Tobago for Trinidad, but you will have to pay it at Piarco in Trinidad before boarding your international flight home.
