The chief anorak obviously thinks that life has been too easy for us. This is a test. I am slowly finding my way around. I expect there are instructions somewhere but, like most men, I don't read instructions, I just bumble along in the hope that all will magically become clear. It's nice and easy to read though, isn't it?

Hi Guys
Sorry if the new look confuses you. Don't worry - the structure is identical to the old forum and you'll soon get used to it. Just keep an eye on the Board Index line just below our main menu bar. That will tell you where you are at any time. You can click on "Board index" to take you back to the main index at any time - or click on any of the various levels shown on that line.
This isn't change for change's sake. The old forum software was becoming increasingly difficult to administer. The software used is the most popular forum software in the world - the trouble being that it is also a prime target for hackers, who even sell their hacking programs to others. The new software will hopefully address all of that (at least for a few years).
Tony, please excuse me removing the code you mentioned in the post. Leaving it for all to see had serious implications from a hackers point of view. This forum upgrade has intentionally coincided with a move to new web hosting and database servers, plus a complete upgrade of all system software. There are bound to be numerous bugs and glitches throughout the site (not just the forum). If anyone spots anything peculiar, or receives error messages, can they PLEASE notify me - I will never find everything on my own.
Enjoy!

Hi Steve,
Every'ting cool. It's looking good. Sorry to be a security risk. In future if I spot anything dodgy I will let you know in a less public way.

So this was why I couldn't get onto the site at 7.45 this morning.
There I was - logging in for my early morning fix (just before setting off to work) - and all I got was a screen with the word "ERROR" many times!
It's going to take a while to get used to - but I LIKE the new look. It's cool!!
Congrats Steve!

Steve, I'm having an issue in the accomodation forum...I can only see "General Accomodation"...none of the sub forums are visible and it says I "don't have permission to view topics in this forum"

Hi Natasha
Ooops! Sorry about that - I added all the sub-forums but forgot to enable them for regular readers. You should find them all now.

Steve,
The new software is great (mainly because it has a feature I asked you about a year ago - that is the ability to click on the "first unread" tab). The only bad side is that I thought that the new and improved software would improve my avatar, but all I see is the same old worn out me
Thanks for all your hard work in keeping this forum going.
