(We stayed at Sweet Nest in January 2008, but the drop-down menu only let me choose between 2002 and 2007.)
My husband and I stayed at Sweet Nest for our honeymoon on January 10-24 2008. We were incredibly happy with our choice as the cottage is absolutely perfect and Paul and Gillian are the most wonderful hosts, with excellent help from Sandra the house keeper.
Sweet Nest is unbelievably well-equipped with everything we could possibly think of and more (dvd-player with movies, cd-player with cds, iron and board, blow-dryer, picnic basket and so on). We had everything we needed in the kitchen (fridge, freezer, stove, oven, microwave, mixer and all possible utensils) and enjoyed cooking there and eating out on the deck, hearing and watching the beautiful exotic birds. We enjoyed the birds more than we expected to and really recommend a walk up to the nearby Grafton Caledonia Bird Sanctuary to see one of their feedings (8 a.m. and 4 p.m.).
The location was perfect - close to pretty much everything, like Scarborough and Crown Point where most of the action is. It was easy to get around even without a rental car as just about everybody on Tobago likes to make some extra cash as taxi drivers, you just have to stand by the road and wave to cars passing by.
Grafton Beach, only a couple of minutes on foot from Sweet Nest, was the best beach we tried on Tobago! Great swimming with good-sized waves and not at all crowded like Pigeon Point and Store Bay. A few more minutes in the other direction takes you to Mt Irvine Beach which is good if you're looking for more people and facilities.
The nearby grocery store Marie's Place was good to have and also the ATM, Pizza Boys, The Fish Pot restaurant, Mom's Roti Shop, Ocean View Bar et cetera.
We hope to be back one day, maybe with friends or family so we can stay in the big villa - the view from up there is excellent!
I took a lot of pictures and here are some taken in and around Sweet Nest: flickr.com/photos/helenaferry/sets/72157603799126955/
