sunscreen availability?

Hi all, only a week to go now, wohoo :)

being swedish, and a light-skinned one to boot, I need sunscreen, and lots of it, to make it in the sun. When I was in Brazil a couple of years ago I used mainly factor 50, will such high factors be available in Tobago, and if so, where? It's not easy finding such high factor in Sweden during winter-time...

thanks

Hi Daniel
There´s a lot of high-factor sun screen protection to choose between. Big super-markets as Penny Savers in Canaan has it, a small shop by the airport, a shop at Store bay Beach, but bring something with you to start with.

I don´t need so strong ones as 35-50, but I´m using Piz Buin and I can´t buy that in Tobago so I have to bring it with me for my whole vacation. I don´t know where you live but womens shops use to have mostly things.

If you want you can wrte me directly at [email protected]

There are plenty of pharmacies that sell sun screens, many well known brands as well as American brands. There are at least three pharmacies in the Bob Accord ,Crown Point,Canaan area ,a few more in Scarborough itself, one in Lowlands Mall one in Carnbee and all super markets have a pharmacy counter so you should have no problem.Take an initial supply with you and then purchase what you need.If you limit you exposure to the sun and gradually increase daily you should have no problems.Stay out of the sun in the afternoon and don't be fooled if the sky is overcast, you can still burn.Enjoy yourself

Hi Daniel

Just a thought - but most airports stock a good range of sunscreen - and once you get through the security checks - it's tax free!!

Might be worth checking out.
