Eating out in 2008

Our 2008 Tobago trip was fabulous & this time we had a much better time of it as far as food was concerned. Here’s a quick rundown on some of the places we ate.
----------------------------------
Shore Things :
Great place to eat in a relaxed atmosphere overlooking the sea with the waves crashing against the shore, the service was very good, polite & only slow when busy, excellent fresh fruit smoothies, ice cold beer, superb carrot cake & the fish pastelles are well worth a try.
----------------------------------
Seahorse Inn :
This was the top end of the places we ate and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, the seafood is superb & the wine menue although pricey is extensive plus if your gagging for a real ale they have that too.
----------------------------------
Patsy’s Original Hot Doubles in Scarborough :
What else can I say other than seek out this place & give them a try, fabulous.
----------------------------------
Bamboo Mile :
Again we very much enjoyed the food here, the atmosphere very relaxing & the service is very friendly but can be a little forgetful at times.
----------------------------------
Rosie’s Bakery :
Again excellent & well worth stopping off to pick up a snack while passing.
---------------------------------
Sharon & Pheb’s :
Nice place to chill, try the shrimp they are great.
---------------------------------
Speyside :
We never got the name of this place a pink/peach coloured snack hut alongside the beach not far from the jetty. Well worth a mention for the delicious roti. Hope you find it !
---------------------------------
Castara :
Oh dear ! . . . . . . . . . We only tried two places in Castara this year and what a disaster each time, so much so we were put off trying anywhere else there.
Café Delight :
This was anything but a delight the painfully slow service by the miserable staff made the 40 minute wait for a mediocre tuna sandwich unacceptable.
We swam round to the other place you will recognise it by the tassels of cloth & fish hanging from the ceiling that look very colourful & inviting. However the wait for pizza’s here was ridiculously long & to top it all they are no longer able to sell alcohol/beer’s so unless all you want a soft drink there’s not much reason to go there.
The poor service in Castara became laughingly known amongst us as Castara-itus for good reason,
shame really as the bay is a lovely place & well worth a visit & the snorkelling there is very good too.
--------------------------------------
The last place on this list is the bar in the Tobago Hilton :
Be warned the service is very poor !
--------------------------------------
Well thats it we are now looking forward to planning our return next year
