Went to Tobago first two weeks in March 2008, and had a wonderful time. However would like to tell anyone going or going back that THE cloud was omniprescient, hangs over Shore Bay and Pigeon Point from late am. and stays there. I asked our housekeeper about this and was told they are more than aware of global warming this has occured only over the last few years. If you move inland a tad or go to Turtle beach the sun will shine, however you will not see turquiose waters .Pays your money and takes your choice I guess. This is only for sun lovers like me -but thought it would help

Hi Sandra

I have commented on this somewhere before.

The 'cloud' is not always there but I agree that it forms from time to time.

My theory is that because Tobago has such a nice lush rainforest and a beautiful mountainous terrain, the trades that come from the east are lifted over and around the island. Moisture is picked up and as a consequence this forms the 'cloud' on the west side.

It's not normally a rainy cloud ... just a nuisance factor.
