Hi. I'm new to the board. We are two couples who hope to vacation in Castara next year.

There does not seem to be a lot of info on Castara Cottage and I'm thinking it has changed it's name. Is this so? We're specifically wondering where it it situated. High up or closer down to the beach? What I have read says it is only a minute from both beaches. Any info anyone whould care to share?
Thanks.

Glen

Castara Cottages are very conveniently placed on the junction ,where the down road leads directly to Big Bay and a little short cut takes you to Heavenly Bay.Both within a couple of minutes.Another advantage is that just 25 yards from you is Coddrie'sRum shop------a great place to lime.

it did change owndership very few years back and with that its name. it was called "mango house" before but the old reviews would not help you much, since the new owners changed around a lot and have new care takers as far as I know... so you got to go with what you can find here so far...

have a great time in tobago

Hi Glen,

My girlfriend and I have just arrived home, after spending two weeks in Castara Cottage. I would like to recommend it wholeheartedly. It is very charming, and good value for money in my opinion.

We stayed in the studio apartment, (Saffron) which was comfortable, airy, and nicely decorated. The bed was comfy, with a good mossie net. The kitchen had everything we needed, with plenty of room for food in the fridge/freezer. The shower had hot water all the time, and the balcony was great for relaxing after a tough day at the beach :) There was plenty of storage space, and a safe for passports and cash.

The cottage is situated at the top of the hill between both beaches, so yes it is literally one minutes walk to either! However in Castara you are never more than 5 or 10 minutes walk from anything....

Brigitte, the manager, was very friendly and helpful, and came round a couple of times a week with new sheets and towels etc.

Check the owners website, which portrays the cottage very accurately.

David - sadly I only popped in a couple of times to grab a couple of take-away Stags. We spent quite a bit of time in the little rum shop just up from King David's shop.

I'm completely hooked on the place btw..... I'm so gutted to be back in Dundee.... :(
