Thunderstorms?

Hi Paul
My husband and I are visiting Tobago for the first time on 12-19 April and really can't wait.

Something that is bothering me slightly though is the weather forecast. Everytime I've looked (on UK websites) it's forecasting isolated thunderstorms

- I know a tropical island gets a lot of rain but surely it's not raining all the time?!

We're staying at the Crown Point Beach hotel and one of the posts on here was talking about a cloud appearing at that part of the island for most of the day...

Emma,I have been a visitor to Tobago for many years,I have only once ever seen a thunderstorm and that was way out to sea.
Yes a cloud does develop over the bottom end of the Island.......but not every day and not all day.Cloud also develops over other parts. It may be fine in C'ville, raining in Castara, and fine at Crown Point.
Tobago is a tropical rainforest island so it can rain at any time, anywhere, but the difference is you get wet and five minutes later you are dry(and refreshed)!

Hi Emma
David is right about the weather, it´s even so that sometimes a small cloud hang over Store Bay while Pidgeon Point is sunny!
And, because the island isn´t big, you can always go by car to the sunny area higher up on the Caribbean side or on the Atlantic side, if the weather is bad in the Crown Poing area. The staff can call and check the weather situation for you.
About the weather rapport you are talking about, sometimes they are for both Trinidad & Tobago, and Trinidad does have very much cloud and rain compared with Tobago.
Have a nice vacation, i´m going down June 25.
