Getting to Castara from Scarborough

Hello,
It's my first time posting, though this site has been a really valuable resource. My boyfriend and I will soon be traveling to Tobago. We will get into Scarborough (by ferry from Trinidad) late morning/early afternoon on a Monday. We're trying to figure out what the most economical way to get to Castara would be. I read in Rough Guide that there is a bus that runs through Scarborough to Castara. How feasible is this? Would it be better to get a taxi (how much would this be?)? Or is there another option we didn't think of...
We haven't decided yet whether or not we're going to rent a car, we'll be staying in Castara the whole time and visiting for six days. As Americans I think we're both a little weary of "other side" driving and we weren't sure if it was necessary.
Thanks so much for any information!
