wedding in september

Hi, I would like some advice... I have booked 3 weeks in tobago to get married and have a honeymoon. Im aware that it is the rainy season out there at this point. What would an average day in september be like? Is it mainly cloudy conditions or is there mainly sunshine but 2hours of rain a day? I have been looking on the net and getting mixed reports. My fiancee would really like to get married on a sunny day and return home with a tan so if its likely to be mainly overcast we will re-book.
I know noone can acurately predict the weather but going on previous septembers - am I doing the right thing?
Many thanks!

Hi Tony
Welcome aboard!
As you say, nobody can predict the weather and that is particularly true these days, when the weather patterns around the world seem to be totally screwed. However, in general terms it is true to say that your second guess is likely to be the more accurate - i.e. mainly sunshine with heavy showers. Believe you me, when it rains it really RAINS. But, half an hour later it can be clear blue skies and just traces of steam rising from the ground as the wet dries off. Let's put it this way, I would personally put money on it that you will return home with a tan.
Just one thought: given the time of year it might not be the most prudent thing to arrange an outdoor ceremony; or, at least, only do so with a covered alternative in case it is a wet day.

Many thanks Steve!
