That Friday feeling

You know how it is on Fridays, you wake up wondering when parliament is going to implement the four day week (for five days pay ofcourse!!). Not only that but I have to drive to Enfield for a meeting at midday, which means I will be fighting with all the commuters trying to get away for the Bank Holiday weekend as I drive back to Northampton, through the M! roadworks during rush hour  . Then thats compounded with the fact that in a moment of madeness i offered to go into work on Sunday (I never work Sundays), to demonstrate a product i have never used, to a store full of bored shoppers who are trying to escape the Bank holiday Rain!! #-o What possessed me to offer to work extra hours on top of my usual monday shift i will never know!!! :?
As you can gather, I really did not want to get up this morning, the unfortunate thing with working in retail, especially a large DIY store, is when everyone else is having a break on bank Holidays, I have to work twice as hard!!
Then the Postman arrived, MY TICKETS ARE HERE!!!!!!!!! :D :D 8) all of a sudden things don't seem quite as bad, the countdown clock on my pc has been there for the past few weeks, but getting the tickets in your hand just makes a holiday seem so much closer  only 22 days, 3 hrs and 30 mins to go WOOHOO!!!!!

Very happy Linda

Hello Linda,
Which part of Enfield did you go to?
I used to live not far from there, many decades ago.
For those who don't know "Norf" London, Enfield has wonderful place names like Turkey Street, Freezywater, Ponders End and Brimsdown. At school we would sing "Take my hand, I'm a stranger in Ponders End". My mum worked for the Enfield Highway Co-Operative Society.
That's enough nostalgia. Actually I never liked the place!

Hi Carol,
I went to B&Q in Enfield, couldn't tell you what area it was in, although I did see quite a few signs for Ponders End. Found the way home much easier, by ingoring sat nav that was determined to send me through the centre of Enfield and the wrong way up a one way street on the way there!
Never mind, three weeks today will be at Gatwick - and I know the way there with no probs
