easternfield road to.... castara?

This morning, I followed eastern Field road, from Mason Hall in direction of the water dam.
About one km before the start of the unpaved section of the main road), there is on the left a smaller road (on the corner with a large fenced property with a very large house builted in dark wood resting on steel columns). At the very same corner, there is a sign with Horse Back riding for experienced.
Do anybody knows where this road leads to? I went inside for a very good while, noted the property with the riding facilities, and then the road continued through the heavy green, supposely in a direction parallel to the coast line road to Castara, but in the middle of the mountains. Is this the old Castara road? There is any way out on the other side or any trail connecting to other places. Would appreciate a few more hints, and if anyone wants to join for a mountain bike discovery trip, let me know. Have also been riding along a small valley road, that through green and fields (no house - no nobody around)connects Calder Hall to the junction where the road from Hope climbs to reach eastern field road. Grazie, Ciao Gabriele

Gabriele,

I am interested in exploring that road by bike and I am arriving Tobago tomorrow. Let's talk to each other soon. I am also very interested in learning about other rain forest trails.

Thanks, Hugh

1.David, thank you for reply. Do you know where is the old road supposed to 'arrive' ? You mentioned Mt.Dillon: Is it anywhere on the (closed to traffic) road from the lookout (above Ex Parkinson House)? Do you remember if the old road meet a trail (that runs approx 3/4 high on the hills surrounding Englishman Bay Estate all the way to the hills surrounding Castara (there is a spring that feed the small water falls in Castara) and continue supposely in direction of the lookout? After the sign, with the concrete, is the road still in good conditions for mountain bike or it becames very 'bushy'?
2.Hugh, contact me when in Tobago, cell 7155465 or at Tartaruga 6390940. Are you bringing a bike with you? Let me know if are you also a jogger, should it be necessary to combine run with the bike ride (if trail becames too steep).
Ciao Gabriele

Gabriel the road that is closed comes out by the bridge over Down Castara River which is on a nasty bend.
I know the other one to Englishman's has been used in the recent past for donkey treks.Easternfield Rd will probably be overgrown because it has been closed for at least five years.
