we are hoping to visit Tobago in early September..... can we expect much rain??? what in general is the weather like at that time of the year

As anywhere nowadays, its impossible to predict the weather. Yes, you are going to get some rain. That applies whenever you visit Tobago. That's why the island is generally so lush, beautiful and green. However, the rain tends to fall in short sharp bursts, particularly during the early hours before sunrise.
