myTobago – your questions, review and comment about Tobago

Using this site I have planned all the places I want to see, prebooked my hire car(really good rates as well) and after reading all the stories reall looking forward to the 10th August.
Going to Trinidad the first weekend and it sounds a bit scary, but will add some info when I get back to the UK. Hope its all good

Good or bad, we want to know your thoughts and impressions of Tobago. Reports from visitors like yourself are the lifeblood of this site; in fact they are probably more relevant than the views and opinions of 'old-hands' like myself and other regulars in the sense that you see the island in a different way to us - and more typically of the average reader.

Sadly, whilst thousands of readers spend many hours on our site researching their holiday (over 1 Gigabyte of page download bandwidth per day), far too few bother to come back and post their views and comments - so please don't forget.

As a matter of interest, I have just sent out a circular to 2,983 different readers who used our accommodation enquiry service in 2005 and 2006, asking them to file reports on their Tobago accommodation, if they haven't already done so. Eleven new reports have been filed within the 30 minutes since the emails went out.

Now I'll go and send the same message to the 4,310 readers who sent enquiries in 2007.

Hopefully there will be tons of reports for the benefit of future visitors. My thanks to everyone who has taken the trouble to reply to my request.

Well, I can't wait to post my Guest report but unfortunately we aren't departing for Tobago for another 15 weeks!! We will be a party of 6, which includes my parents who are nearly 80. My father visited Tobago nearly 60 years ago and has never been back - and has also never stopped talking about it. We are all so excited about our visit and are just not sure what to expect. If we read the reports on this forum is sounds paradise - if we read reports on other forums it sounds like the old Wild West with crime around every corner!! However, we have open minds and just can't wait to experience Tobago for ourselves.

Rest assured I shall be posting a review of the Turtles Retreat Villa upon my return, but you'll have to wait a few weeks as we don't fly out there until 17th August!

Should I be a bit concerned that there are no existing reviews on this property, or is it because it's fairly new?

To be honest, I haven't heard anything about that property, although I have to admit that I find it somewhat surprising that my own emails to the owners have never had the courtesy of a reply.
