My husband and I stayed at Alibaba's Sea Breeze in mid-June for a solid week. We loved the location in Castara and the proximity to the beach, which is a literal stone's throw away. The balcony overlooking the ocean is wonderful, and it is also surrounded by leafy trees which allows for some great bird watching. Daily visits by mot mots and tanagers were amazing, as well as seeing the sea birds flying over the ocean and swooping down to catch fish.

FYI, there are no closed walls in the place (i.e there are open areas in the uppermost parts of the walls adjoining the balcony and the hallway). This allows for many bugs in the apartment at times, which sometimes felt like a literal invasion of creatures into the apartment (beware the times between 6-9pm when they stream in). Hearing the crashing waves at night also takes some getting used to. It was difficult to sleep the first couple of nights because of the noise, but we quickly got used to it.

The apartment itself is basic and while the equipment supplied in the kitchen is quite extensive and meets all your need, much of it needs to be updated, especially the pots and pans. It could also get quite hot inside and an air conditioner would have been nice. Cleanliness was okay, not the best. There is a mosquito net around the bed which we used because of all the bugs, but it gets quite stuffy inside. A helpful tip is that we placed the fan inside the net at the opening and tucked the net around it, which made it quite cool inside. We joked that we were camping. Although the quality of the apartment does not exactly seem to merit the price, the amazing balcony with its two chairs and little table does generally make up for it (it is definitely the best feature of the place). Snorkelling at Little Bay was the best we did on the island (beating coral gardens and the angel reef) and amazingly convenient, as many other areas on the island require boat access. We had a nice stay and loved quiet Castara, although you will need your own car if you stay here and beware the winding narrow roads around Castara. Tobago is wonderful and we did so many amazing things there! We might have been more comfortable somewhere else, but the location and view can't be beat.
