myTobago – your questions, review and comment about Tobago

We stayed at Blue Waters Inn because that's where the UK birding company
I usually travel with stays. We were interested in the endemic birds of
Tobago and assumed this would give us easier access to the forests and
offshore islands we planned to visit.
Our room was of reasonable standard, the staff friendly and the food
of an acceptable standard.
The beach and beach facilities were run down and could benefit from
a general clean-up and maintenance programme.
The high cost of tourism in Trinidad and Tobago means long-distance
travellers probably make it a once only destination.
Our favourite destination is undoubtedly Aisa Wright's Nature Reserve and
we wished we had stayed there for the whole three weeks!!
We found your guide interesting and informative but didn't actually choose
anything from it.

I went birdwatching in Tobago in January and found it was a birders' paradise. We stayed at the Coco Reef;not an obvious birding place, but on the first morning sipping tea on the terrace of our garden room we saw so many species, all new, that we couldn't open our guide quick enough. I know that the Blue Waters Inn has become part of the birders' mythology, but you can see birds anywhere on the island. The rainforest was particularly rewardingand I deemed my trip to Little Tobago was one of those special memories to be revisited for many years.
