I will be travelling to Tobago this October, my son and I wil be taking light spinning gear, 9' Shimano STC & a 10' Mike Ladle 4 Sure Spin which I believe will be fine for surf casting, however I would like to take a heavier rod 8'-10' capable of casting poppers up to 4oz should we get the opportunity to fish further out. I'm aware Steve Pitts was searching for such a rod, any luck Steve? or does any one else have any suggestions, it must be a travel rod able to fit in a holdall. Thanks.

Bernie,
Look at the Shakespeare web site ;
http://www.shakespaere-fishing.co.uk
Products , Rods , Sea , Salt , Beach Travel rod.
Model number 1452/345 is a 11ft.6ins. 6piece beach cast rod with a casting weight 4 - 8 oz.
This might solve the problem you have with regards to a rod that will fit into a holdall.
Other than that I have a Normark 2.5lbs test curve travel carp rod that may also be of use although I am not sure of the model number. i suggest you search the Normark website for further info.
Best of luck.
